Meet The Founder

Hi, I'm Kalauna — founder of Kolors by K® and the heart behind the brand.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, I created Kolors by K® with a simple vision: to offer beautiful nail products that are as thoughtful as they are vibrant. As an Environmental Scientist and proud HBCU graduate of Tuskegee University, sustainability, wellness, and inclusivity have always been at the center of everything I do. I'm currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Environmental Science at Florida A&M University.

Since launching Kolors by K® in 2016, I've balanced entrepreneurship, a full-time career, and my academic journey while handcrafting thousands of bottles of nail polish with care and purpose. What began as a passion project has grown into a nationally recognized brand featured in beauty boxes, salons, and publications around the world.

Kolors by K® is proudly vegan, cruelty-free, and certified by organizations including Leaping Bunny, PETA, and ECOLOGO®, reflecting our commitment to creating products that are kinder to both people and the planet.

More than anything, I want every customer to feel confident knowing they never have to choose between luxury, quality, and conscious ingredients.
